Renzo Piano gave renowned lighting designer George Sexton a very clear brief as the way he wanted the Shard pinnacle to be lit.
He wanted a graduated effect in just static white light and to be dimmed to just 35% output so as not to detract from the buildings architecture.
GSA specified Lumenpulse lumen façades mounted on the structural beams over ten stories above the viewing gallery and LITE supplied over 300 fixtures together with the lighting controls from Pharos.
