As part of a multimillion pound redevelopment of Leeds Station the second busiest in England, a new entrance was created in an old Victorian tunnel system known as Dark Neville St. arches under the railway are to be converted into boutique retail outlets and as the location does not allow for much daylight there needed to be a wow factor to encourage footfall in this part of the station.
Philips had a concept using a mix of graze and floodlights to illuminate the barrel vaulted ceiling and also the tunnels running away where the river aire flows.
Following a site demonstration the install took place and now the area is popular with commuters and shoppers.
